Warehouse Supervisor

We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to work with our client, a rapidly growing premium home delivery company in Reading. The successful candidate will oversee the warehousing operations in the warehouse and distribution centre. You will be working on a full-time basis, initially on a temporary to permanent basis. The shift pattern will be 4 days on 2 days off to fall in line with the client's demand.

Within this Warehouse Supervisor position, you’ll be:

• Set up a layout and ensure efficient space utilisation

• Liaise with our distribution centre where we store overflow stock

• Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operations policies and procedures

• Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements

• Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security

• Maintain stock control and reconcile

• Control warehouse budget for purchasing

• Plan work rotas around busy periods, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results

• Coach and motivate employees

• Produce reports regularly to keep track of jobs and help to plan workflow

• Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided

• Picking and packing orders alongside your colleagues

To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:

• 2 years’ experience within a Supervisor role in a warehousing and distribution environment

• Ability to work in an environment that requires heavy lifting

• Expert Experience in Warehousing Health & Safety

• Able to demonstrate knowledge of KPI’s and SOP’s

• IT Literate including Microsoft Word and Excel

• Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases

• Good communication skills

• UK Driving License

The following are desired but not essential:

• First Aid Trained

• Health and safety certificate
