Night Shift Manager

Our client is one of the UK’s largest logistic businesses with more for 50 depot locations. They specialise in everything from retail deliveries to freight logistics. Being established for over 150 years they have built up a trusted and recognised brand name.

Due to an increase in orders, we now are looking to recruit a night shift manager to work from the depot in Bow, London. The main focus of the role will be to assist with organising and managing the safe loading and unloading of all inbound and outbound products and vehicles undertaken on site, in accordance with customer requirements and orders.

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Ensure full scan compliance and productivity on parcels sortation
• Ensure inductions are carried out for all new staff
• Provide on the job training to all staff and delivery contractors to ensure they are able to undertake their duties effectively, efficiently and safely and provide direction where necessary
• Ensure the warehouse and loading areas are kept clean, tidy and safe at all times to comply with Company Policy and Health & Safety Regulations.
• Continually look to increase branch productivity and reduce costs (supported by the KPI measures).
• Lead and motivate the team to meet customer timescales and improved productivity
• Hold team briefings with warehouse staff and drivers to communicate Company policies and procedures, Health & Safety matters and any other business information.

Key skills and competencies:

• An effective leader, capable of motivating and encouraging team members to maximise performance and achieve KPI’s
• Competent computer skills in the use of Microsoft office packages and in house programs
• A ‘Can Do’ attitude with the motivation to deliver goals and results through people and processes.
• Experience of managing a shift and planning Rota’s

Special requirements for this role include:

• Sitting, standing, Manual Handling over long periods of time.
• PPE required
• Key holder

As night shift manager you can expect working hours to be 11pm and 8am over a 7-day period with a rolling rota (we can be flexible with this).
