Our client is one of the UK’s most successful vacant property security and environmental property services companies. They specialise in a full range of property services including security, protection and environmental waste clearance plus extreme cleaning, bio-hazard removal and crime scene clean-up. Being established for over 20 years they have built up a trusted and recognised brand name.
Due to an increase in orders, they are looking to recruit an operations manager to work from Hull. The main focus of the role will be to assist the General Manager take a proactive operational and strategic management of site(s) to ensure safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness aligned to KPIs, Service Pledge and company guidelines.
Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Daily Health & Safety checks involving walk round branch, checking notices, hourly cleaning logs, fork lift truck and vehicle checklists, fire exits and equipment
- Ensure functional and compliant with legislation and company guidelines to reduce accidents and claims
- Meet with prospective new contractors to assess their suitability and suitability of their vehicle(s)
- Performance Reviews – defining and agreeing KPIs, timelines, Performance Goals for direct reports and that performance reviews are carried out for all grades within the remit of the role and are recorded appropriately
- Assessing/measuring - conducting regular 1:1s with direct reports to review performance against KPIs and Performance Goals and record appropriately, identify training needs and support development and improvement
- Sign off over time, Health & Safety equipment, maintenance and repair of machinery and other items relating to ensuring operations run smoothly
- Raise Purchase Order in SAP
- Review weekly wage costs by department, review shift patterns as required by the needs of the business and in line with budgets
- Cascade all relevant information to customers and team in a timely manner
- Support, facilitate and embrace a culture of open communication when relevant
Special requirements for this role include:
- Full and current UK driving license
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Background within Plumbing, Drainage and/or Sewage
As Operations Manager you can expect working hours to be 8am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday with the prospect to cover the occasional Saturday.
