Pole Erector

Experienced self-employed Pole Erecting Teams (*ideally with poling lorry and equipment*) required to install BT telegraph poles across Sheffield starting ASAP (5 years’ worth of work).

Your role will involve supplying poles to site, erecting new overhead line poles on working sites either before or on the day of overhead line works. Replace and remove old overhead line poles, excavation, back filling.

***This work will be paid on a self-employed basis on day rate with a bonus scheme***.

Must hold valid NRSWA Street works ticket and A14 - Pole Erection Unit & Vehicle Safety BT accreditation to complete the work.

Dimensions

* Drive the pole lorry
* Use lorry crane arm to load new poles onto lorry for transportation to site.
* Set up site signage or assist with site traffic management when required.
* Excavate holes for new poles either with a HiAb mounted auger, mechanical excavator or by hand depending on site circumstances.
* Erect poles by means of either the lorry’s crane arm or excavators bucket using suitably rated slings or by hand as part of the site team.
* Backfill around poles either by mechanical means or by hand.
* Remove all traffic management, old poles and any leftover debris or spoil from site. Leaving it in a safe condition for the general public and other workers
