CNC OPERATORS (NIGHT SHIFT) WANTED ASAP!!!
Our client, based in Topcliffe YO7, are in urgent need of CNC Operators to join their workshop as soon as possible.
Main Purpose of Role
To monitor and maintain the processing of steel sections through an automated CNC system, ensuring that a quality product is safely passed to the next stage of Severfield’s fabrication process.
Key Tasks & Accountabilities
- To be responsible for monitoring machine progress with programmes.
- To ensure machine is set up with correct material and tools are ready.
- To be responsible for fitting correct tools to programmes requirements.
- To check blades, drills and other consumables are fit for purpose and replace when required.
- To be able to orientate materials and be aware of angles.
- To be responsible for correctly using hot cutting machines (Cope) using plasma or oxyfuel.
- To be responsible for machine management including daily checks and pre-use safety checks.
- To book in service and maintenance when needed.
- Remove scrap & swarf bins.
- Process data and information in compliance with full traceability regulations.
- Completing quality control tests during the manufacturing stage and on the final product.
- Cleaning and maintaining the machine.
- To adhere to 6s manufacturing techniques.
Role Requirements
- Good level of computer/tablet literacy.
- To be able to read and interpret technical drawings & CNC data.
- Must understand structural steel fabrication requirements.
- Experience of operating CNC equipment.
- Experience of setting tools for machines.
- Ability to use over head cranes to lift heavy objects
- Basic mechanical maintenance capabilities, fitting/use of hand tools.
- Good communicator & team player.
- Ability to work independently and stick to deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
Knowledge & Experience
- Computer literacy
- 2+ years of experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of Health and Safety
Preferred:
- Good understanding of 5s a lean manufacturing.
- Understand simple CNC code.
Pay: £16.50ph
Duration: Temp to Perm 13 weeks
Working Hours: 6.30PM - 6.30AM
