Industrial Maintenance Technician

Alpha Recruitment are looking for x3 Industrial Maintenance Technicians to work on a full time basis for our busy client in Knottingley.

The Role:

The role will be assisting the all teams in day to day tasks, so that the facility can function as an integrated whole and run at maximum levels of safety, compliance, availability and efficiency.

Job Description:

Start date: ASAP

Duration: Temp to perm

Hours: This role will be on a shift pattern basis

Salary: £24.5k-£27k depending on experience + perm benefits

Requirements: CSCS and/or CCNSG – other tickets and licenses desirable

Experience: Minimum 5 years industry experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Assists in ensuring that all waste and consumables deliveries, residues storage, management and removal operations, are conducted within prescribed Health, Safety and Environmental constraints and guidelines.

· In conjunction with the traffic management system, assists in directing the refuse trucks as to where to unload, conducting periodic inspections, and screening out unacceptable waste from the waste stream.

· Maintain a clear tipping floor area, ensuring any obstacles are removed or waste that is unacceptable is segregated for subsequent disposal, and that traffic flows smoothly.

· Operation of the waste and ash cranes to manage inputs and maintain an effective bunker profile.

· Assisting in the operation of APCr conveying and loading equipment.

· Operating mobile plant including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts and other mobile equipment, including performing routine maintenance checks on mobile equipment and reports malfunctions.

· Provides basic cover for the Weighbridge Clerk as required.

· Close liaison with other operational and maintenance colleagues responsible for other elements of the site, so the facility can function as an integrated whole, and run at maximum levels of safety, availability and efficiency.

· Assists with the inspection of waste deliveries and the collection of waste samples for duty of care, environmental, regulatory and safety compliance requirements..

· Maintain high levels of housekeeping and cleanliness around the plant as a whole.

Qualifications & Experience

· Knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace.

· Understanding of waste regulations, duty of care, transfer notes etc.

· Mobile plant experience and licences for Front Loading Shovel, Fork Lift Truck, mechanical access equipment.

· IT literate and competent to operate computer software systems.

· Current, valid UK driving licence.
