Alpha Recruitment are currently seeking a CAD Technician for one of the UK’s leading specialists in interior fit-out based in Leicester.
Day to Day Duties
- Produce manufacturing models and drawings from architectural and design intent drawings for approval and construction
- Ensure all drawings and models are produced in line with EES manufacturing and drawing standards
- Adhere to specific project standards such as naming conventions, numbering protocols and standard details
- Ensure drawing check sheets are used before and during the drawing process
- Produce drawings within allocated time frames and budgets
- Report to Lead CAD Technician as and when required reporting any issues with design, costs or timeframes set
- Ensure critical dimensions are on all drawings
- Read and understand Architectural Specifications ensuring EES drawings adhere to the requirements, raising any deviations with Lead CAD Technician
- Ensure all ironmongery and equipment is detailed accurately
- Where relevant, use Internal and Architectural models to derive up to date drawing information
- Where requested attend project design meetings and liaise with project team
- Where relevant, output models in the required format for inclusion in the project model
- Where relevant output models in the required format for CNC
- When modelling joinery ensure cutting lists are populated with component lists, ID's and panel sizes and that an ID tagged paper space has been produced
- Where surveys are instructed by the CAD technicians to a 3rd party ie the site supervisor/foreman the CAD technician is to make reasonable steps to ensure the survey taken is accurate and concise.
- The survey is to be checked by the CAD technician making sure it meets exactly the instruction of the CAD technician.
- All survey instructions along with the actual surveys are to be kept on the server within the drawing job file.
- Keep accurate time records/sheets up to date
Qualifications:
- Good Knowledge of 2D AutoCAD and/or 3D CAD Packages
- Good understanding of joinery industry and joinery manufacturing processes
- Joinery Experience not crucial but would be of benefit
