Alpha Recruitment are looking for Workshop maintenance fitter to begin work in Scunthorpe.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Workshop Maintenance Fitter based in Scunthorpe to maintain and repair our fleet of machines and vehicles. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our waste-to-energy services, working within a team to keep our equipment running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance and repair work on Disab machines, high-pressure water jetting equipment, HGVs, tanks, and long-wheelbase vans.
- Carry out scheduled services and reactive repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
- Mentor and supervise two workshop colleagues, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Strict adherence to health and safety regulations within the workshop environment.
Participate in occasional weekend and call-out work, with overtime paid at an enhanced rate
Job Description:
- Start date: ASAP
- Rate: £43,000 to £47,000 per year
- Hours: : Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm (Time and a half after 8 hours/day)
- Duration: Temp - Perm
- Benefits: 30 days annual leave, pension scheme, fully expensed van, with additional overtime and weekend call-out rates.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified in automotive or mechanical fitting.
- Ideally HGV Class 1 trained but HGV Class 2 will be OK
- A CCNSG safety passport is desirable but not essential.
- Experience working with industrial machinery and vehicles, ideally in a similar environment.
- Strong awareness of health and safety standards.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to varied tasks.
- Ability to guide and support junior workshop staff.
